Halfway House

At Misión Zoe, we understand that addiction recovery is an ongoing journey that doesn’t end with a stay at our facilities. That’s why we offer the Halfway House as a crucial stage in the process of reintegration and autonomy for our patients.

This program is designed to provide a supportive and transitional environment where residents can develop the confidence and skills necessary to face life without the need for constant supervision.

The Halfway House is based on the metaphor of a door that gradually opens. Initially, our residents receive a high level of support and structure, similar to the residential treatment setting. As they progress in their recovery, the "door" gradually opens, offering greater opportunities for autonomy and responsibility.

This progressive approach allows each person to assess and strengthen their ability to manage daily life independently. Residents have the opportunity to participate in various activities that promote their social and professional reintegration:

  • Self-Help Groups: Residents are encouraged to attend external self-help groups, which allow them to connect with a support community and continue working on their recovery in a diverse setting.

  • Family Visits: Family visits are essential for rebuilding relationships and receiving the necessary emotional support from loved ones.

  • Employment Opportunities: Residents are given the opportunity to seek employment, which helps restore their economic independence and develop a sense of purpose and responsibility.

  • Exercise and Recreational Activities: Attending the gym and participating in recreational activities like going to the movies or visiting leisure spots are fundamental for maintaining a balanced and healthy life.

The individual’s willingness to embark on this process is key. While some may feel resistance or insecurity at first, it is crucial that they remain open to receiving help and working on their recovery.

Our goal is to help them find joy and fulfillment in their recovery process, raising awareness of the importance of stopping substance use and adopting a healthy lifestyle.

At Misión Zoe, the Halfway House is not just a transitional phase but an opportunity for each individual to discover their ability to live a full, addiction-free life. With the right support and necessary tools, our residents learn to face daily challenges with confidence and resilience, preparing themselves for a bright and sustainable future.
